An extension lecture on “ Role of AI as Future Opportunity ” was organized at DAV College, Hoshiarpur under the aegis of Institution’s Innovation Council-IIC, on 27th February 2026. The programme was designed to provide students and faculty with valuable insights into the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping future opportunities across diverse fields. The event was marked by the gracious presence of Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, Principal of DAV College. The lecture was delivered by Mrs. Anjali Jolly, (Assistant Prof. of Computer Science), who shared her expertise on the applications of AI and its potential to transform industries, education, and research. The lecture highlighted the importance of Artificial Intelligence in redefining career prospects, fostering innovation, and addressing global challenges. Students engaged enthusiastically in the interactive session, raising thoughtful questions about the ethical, practical, and professional dimensions of AI. Apart from 30 students, the programme also witnessed the active involvement of Dr. Versha Mohindra, IIC President, Sh. Manjeel Kumar and Dr. Pankaj Sharma, ARIIA Coordinator, and Ms. Pooja Ghai who contributed to the success of the event through their coordination and support. The entire initiative was conducted under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Anoop Kumar, President of DAV College Managing Committee, and Sh. R. M. Bhalla, Secretary, whose encouragement and vision continue to strengthen the institution’s academic endeavours.




A Panel discussion on “The Role of NEP in Fostering Innovative Syllabi” under the aegis of Institution Innovation Council (IIC) was conducted on November 24, 2025 with enthusiastic participation from students of D.A.V. College Hoshiarpur. The event was organized under the kind guidance of Prof.(Dr.) Vinay Kumar, Principal, DAV. College, Hoshiarpur. The student panelists highlighted how the National Education Policy encourages flexibility, multidisciplinary learning and skill - based education, making syllabi more relevant to contemporary needs. They discussed the importance of reducing rote learning, integrating project work, internships and hands-on activities, and incorporating digital tools to enhance understanding. The panel also emphasized the need for outcome-based assessments and greater freedom for students to choose courses across disciplines. Overall, the discussion reflected strong student awareness of NEP’s vision and their belief that innovative syllabi can better prepare learners for real-world challenges and future career paths.This discussion was led by Dr. Digvijay Singh. IIC Convener Dr. Versha Mohindra endorsing and encouraging such events. More than 10 students actively participated in the discussion, making the event vibrant and engaging.




The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of DAV College Hoshiarpur celebrated ‘National Pollution Control Day’ under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar and the guidance of the worthy management. National Pollution Control Day is observed every year on December 2nd in India to raise awareness about the harmful effects of pollution and to commemorate the lives lost in the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy, one of the world’s worst industrial disasters. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental safety, sustainable development, and strict pollution-control measures. The main objective of National Pollution Control Day is to:Spread awareness about different types of pollution like air, water, soil, noise, and radioactive pollution,Promote sustainable practices and responsible industrial behaviour,Educate citizens about the health hazards caused by pollution,Strengthen environmental laws and encourage industries to adopt safe operating procedures,Prevent industrial accidents by improving safety standards and emergency preparedness.The session began with an introductory address by Dr. Anu Saini, Assistant Prof. of Physics, DAV College, Hoshiarpur. A special talk was given by Prof. Kamaljit Kaur, Head, Dept. of Chemistry and she explained about the types of Pollution i.e Air Pollution, Water Pollution, Soil Pollution, Noise Pollution and Thermal & Radioactive Pollution. The event aimed to educate participants and spread awareness that the protecting the environment is not the responsibility of governments alone, it is a shared duty of all citizens. In this event large numbers of students participated.




Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) of DAV College Hoshiarpur celebrated “National Energy Conservation Day (India)” under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar and the guidance of the worthy management. National Energy Conservation Day is an annual observance in India held on December 14 to raise awareness about the importance of saving energy and using it efficiently. The day highlights India’s commitment to sustainable development, reduced energy consumption, and climate action. The session began with the introductory address by Dr. Anu Saini, Assistant Professor of Physics, DAV College Hoshiarpur who highlighted the Importance of student involvement in local sustainability initiatives. Her session motivated attendees to think beyond personal consumption and consider creative solutions that can influence entire communities. Prof. Vishal Sharma delivered the keynote address on “Everyday Energy Conservation: Small Steps, Big Impact.” He covered the following key points in his address:1.The role of individual actions-like switching off unused lights, using LED appliances, and maximizing natural light.2.How habit change at the household and campus level can significantly reduce energy consumption.3.Practical energy- saving tips tailored to students and young professionals.4.Encouraging peers to adopt energy-efficient technologies in day-to-day life.His talk emphasized that energy conservation is not just a technical issue but a behavioral commitment that each person must adopt. The final speaker, Prof. Subodh Kant Lath, shared his academic insights in a talk titled “Energy Efficiency: Theory to Practice”. Prof. Subodh also encouraged students to integrate energy conservation themes into their research projects and curriculum activities. In this event large number of the students were participated. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Digvijay Singh.




Under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, the Anti-Ragging Cell of DAV College, Hoshiarpur organized a poster-making competition to raise awareness against ragging. Students participated with great enthusiasm, showing creativity and artistic talent. Divjot Kaur, Navleen Sandhu, and Ashutosh secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively.Event Convener Associate Prof. Ms. Sharanjit Kaur appreciated the students’ efforts, emphasizing that such activities foster a positive and encouraging environment within the college. Members of the Anti-Ragging Cell, Dr. Rupakshi Bagga, Dr. Seema Chadha, and Mr. Dharampal were also present during the event.The initiative was further praised by College Managing Committee President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Mr. R.M. Bhalla.




DAV College Hoshiarpur proudly disbursed the P. L. Arora Scholarship to deserving students on a Means‑cum‑Merit basis. The distribution ceremony was led by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar along with Sh. Deshbir Sharma (Retd. Principal, Govt. College, Hoshiarpur). Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar highlighted that the scholarship is provided by Sh. Sunil Arora (former Chief Election Commissioner of India) in memory of his mother, Late Mrs. Pushp Lata Arora. This year, ten students of the college – Saguna, Manisha Saini, Aaina, Navneet Kaur, Bhargavi Sood, Harpreet Kaur Malhi, Kirandeep Kaur, Kajaldeep Kaur, Manvi Sharma, and Prachi Saini – were awarded scholarships of ₹5,000 each, amounting to a total disbursement of ₹50,000. The recognition brought immense encouragement to the recipients, who expressed gratitude for the support extended to them.The College Managing Committee President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. R. Under the supervision of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar and the patronage of Dr. Anoop Kumar, President DAV College Managing Committee, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of DAV College Hoshiarpur organized a workshop on the theme “Turning Passion into Profession.” The event featured guest speaker Mr. Balwant Singh Premi, who shared his inspiring insights on transforming passion into a professional career. Drawing from his own experiences, he emphasized dedication, sincerity, and innovation as the keys to success. His motivational address encouraged students to pursue their interests with commitment, highlighting that every field offers opportunities for employment when approached with honesty and perseverance. Students gained valuable exposure to the nuances of music, innovation, and entrepreneurship, learning how passion can be aligned with career goals. The workshop aimed to instill confidence in the younger generation to explore diverse professional avenues. The programme was successfully coordinated by IIC President Dr. Versha Mohindra, Ms. Raj Kumari Ms. Rajni, and Ms. Priya and Dr. Satvinder Kaur with active support from faculty members.




DAV College, Hoshiarpur has once again illuminated its legacy of academic brilliance with a resounding success in the BBA 5th Semester results declared by Panjab University, Chandigarh. In the examination held in December 2025, Bhumika Sharma emerged as a true symbol of excellence, securing the First Position in the District. Her remarkable achievement has brought immense pride and honor to the institution. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, during the honour of Bhumka and her parents proudly highlighted that Bhumika’s glorious accomplishment serves as the icing on the cake during the centennial celebration of DAV College’s 100 years of illustrious existence. The President of the College Managing Committee, Dr. Anoop Kumar, and Secretary Sh. R.M. Bhalla, extended their heartfelt congratulations to Bhumika Sharma. They lauded her perseverance and motivated her to continue this journey of excellence, inspiring her peers and setting new benchmarks for future achievers.




The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of DAV College, Hoshiarpur, organized a workshop on Design Thinking, Critical Thinking & Innovation Thinking on 27th February 2026 under the Patronage of Dr. Anoop Kumar, President, DAV College Managing Committee and Sh. R. M. Bhalla, Secretary. The event was supervised by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar. The workshop aimed to inspire students to adopt innovative approaches for solving real-world problems and to encourage responsible use of technology.The resource person of the event, Dr. Jaswinder Singh, delivered an engaging session highlighting the role of modern thinking approaches in academic and professional life. He explained Design Thinking as a user-centered process involving empathy, problem definition, ideation, prototyping, and testing. While discussing Critical Thinking, he underlined the importance of logical reasoning, questioning assumptions, and evidence-based decision-making. Moving to Innovation Thinking, he motivated students to transform creative ideas into practical solutions, embrace change confidently, and take calculated risks. He also introduced GitHub and open-source development, explaining how collaboration and version control enhance learning and innovation.The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from 35 students. The event was coordinated by Mr. Manjeel Kumar, Ms. Sonam Bhatia, Ms. Reena, and Ms. Priya Rani, with leadership and support from Dr. Versha Mohindra (IIC President) and its Convener Sh. Sanjeev Ghai. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sonam Bhatia.




Under the inspiring leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar and the aegis of the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), the Sociological Forum Society, Department of Sociology, DAV College Hoshiarpur, organized a special visit on 25 February 2026 to a News Channel Office. In this, 33 students visited the office of GBC UPDATE News Channel to have a practical exposure of media innovation, digital entrepreneurship, and the role of social media in modern journalism. The visit aimed to help students understand how news organizations leverage digital platforms for branding, audience engagement, and revenue generation. Students watched the News Studio Control Room, Editing Department, and Social Media Management Units, observing how coordination between departments ensure smooth broadcasting and online publishing. An interactive Q&A session was conducted with senior professionals Mr. Bajrangi Pandey (Chief Editor), Ms. Shilpa (Journalist), Mr. Raj Kumar (Digital Media Manager), and Mr. Pawan (Cameraman). The experts shared valuable insights into career opportunities in digital media, content creation, and the evolving landscape of journalism.Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar during his interaction with these 33 students emphasized how social media has transformed from a platform of entertainment into a powerful tool for education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and learning. The college management President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. R.M. Bhalla, congratulated Dr. Versha Mohindra (President, IIC), Mr. Manjeel Kumar, Ms. Sonam Bhatia, and Ms. Reena Sahota for the successful organization of the event.




The students of DAV College, Hoshiarpur, achieved remarkable success at the Kala Utsav organized by Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur. Their participation in various inter-college competitions brought pride to the institution. In the Poster Making competition, Navleen Kaur secured the first prize while Divjot Kaur won the second. Nandini impressed the judges in the Slogan Writing competition, earning the third prize, and Pooja’s poetic talent was recognized with a consolation award in the Poem Writing competition. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar congratulated the students on their achievements and praised the ECA incharge Dr. Kulwant Singh Rana, faculty members, especially Ms. Priya and Ms. Rajni, for their guidance and support.The College Managing Committee President, Dr. Anoop Kumar, along with Secretary Shri R.M. Under the aegis of IQAC, IIC, and the C.V. Raman Society, D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur organized a Power Point Presentation and Photography Competition on campus. The Power Point Presentation was conducted on the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing _Viksit Bharat,” while the Photography Competition focused on capturing moments within the college campus. A total of eight students participated in the Power Point Presentation Competition. Harji Kaur Virk of B.Sc. 2nd Semester secured the first position. Suhani and Simerdeep Kaur of B.Sc. 6th Semester bagged the second and third positions, respectively, while Harleen Kaur of B.Sc. 4th Semester received a consolation prize.The Photography Competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from sixteen students. Samiksha of B.Sc. 4th Semester won the first prize, followed by Harji Kaur Virk of B.Sc. 2nd Semester who secured the second position. The third position was attained by Suhani of B.Sc. 6th Semester. Shobit Sehgal and Inderpreet Kaur were awarded consolation prizes. The Power Point Presentation Competition was adjudged by Associate Prof. Kamaljit Kaur, Head, Department of Chemistry, and Associate Prof. and Head,Department of Physics Mr. Vishal Sharma. The Photography Competition was evaluated by Dr. Anu Saini, Dr. Sonu Sharma, and Dr. Digvijay Singh. Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar appreciated the commendable efforts of the participants and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence. The Institution’s Innovation Council of DAV College, Hoshiarpur, in collaboration with the Postgraduate Department of Commerce and Management, successfully organized an Inter-Class Quiz Competition on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The event was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, Principal of DAV College, with the objective of imparting basic knowledge of IPR and highlighting its significance in innovation, research, and economic development. The competition drew enthusiastic participation from students of BBA, M.Com, and B.Com final year classes. Designed to promote academic excellence, general awareness, and a spirit of healthy competition, the quiz encouraged students to sharpen their understanding of intellectual property and its relevance in the modern world. Quiz Master Dr. Kuldip Kaur conducted the event with great energy, engaging participants through thought-provoking and challenging questions. The quiz comprised three rounds—general awareness, advanced knowledge, and a rapid-fire round—covering key concepts such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, industrial designs, and geographical indications at both national and international levels. Three teams competed in the contest. Team I from BBA Final Year, consisting of Bhumika Sharma, Renuka, and Diksha, secured the first position. Team II from M.Com Final Year, represented by Gurleen Kaur, Gurmail Singh, and Jashan, won the second position, while Team III from B.Com Final Year, including Swati Gandhi, Anamika, and Suman Lata, stood third. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of the organizers and participants. Innovation and Entrepreneurship Outreach Programme Inspires Young Minds at DAV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School Hoshiarpur, February 26 — An Innovation and Entrepreneurship Outreach Programme for Schools was successfully conducted under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at DAV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, Hoshiarpur. The initiative was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, Principal of DAV College Hoshiarpur. The programme, coordinated by Ms. Anjali Jolly under the convenor ship of Dr. Versha Mohindra, aimed to nurture an innovative mindset among school students and introduce them to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. A highlight of the event was an expert talk by Associate Prof. Anil Kumar, who shared valuable insights on emerging trends in innovation and the importance of entrepreneurial thinking in today’s competitive world. He encouraged students to transform creative ideas into practical solutions, stressing the role of curiosity, problem-solving, and perseverance in achieving success. Students actively engaged in the interactive session, asking thoughtful questions and presenting their own ideas.The event proved to be a meaningful and inspiring initiative, successfully fostering awareness about innovation and entrepreneurship among young learners.




The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur, under the patronage of Dr. Anoop Kumar, President, DAV CMC, and Sh. R.M. Bhalla Secretary, organized a Two-Day Intra- College Innovation Competition on 25–26 February 2026 under the supervision of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar. The event aimed to nurture creativity, problem-solving skills, and entrepreneurial thinking among students, offering them a platform to present innovative ideas. The competition began with an inaugural ceremony where the Principal emphasized the importance of thinking beyond textbooks and transforming ideas into practical solutions. A total of 27 students from Arts, Commerce, and Computer Science departments participated, showing creative works such as canvas paintings, handmade bookmarks, bottle art, woolen key rings, decorative crafts, and woolen flowers. These exhibits reflected the artistic talent and craftsmanship of the participants.On the second day, the valedictory ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates. Nandini (B.A. 2nd semester) secured the first position, Vansh (B.A. 2nd semester) won second place, and Palak (B.Com 6th semester) achieved third. The judging panel included Ms. Rajni (HoD, Fine Arts) and Ms. Priya (HoD, Fashion Designing). The event’s success was ensured by the leadership of Dr. Versha Mohindra (President, IIC) and Mr. Sanjeev Ghai (Convenor, IIC), supported by Dr. Sapna Sharma, Mrs. Bulbul Sharma, and Dr. Satvinder Kaur (Member, IIC-YUKTI).




An extension lecture on IT Industry Trends and In-Demand Skills was organized on 20th February 2026 under the banner of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science. The programme was held under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar. The lecture drew enthusiastic participation from 51 students and faculty members. It featured two distinguished IT professionals, Mr. Vinay Takhi, a prominent IT developer, and Mr. Ramlal, an expert in programming paradigms, who shared valuable insights into current industry trends and skill requirements.The lecture explored web publishing’s evolution, modern tools, responsive design, SEO, and PWAs, stressing user experience in global scaling. It also emphasized C and C++ as foundational for systems, AI, and gaming, contrasting them with Python and Java, highlighting memory management, debugging, and problem-solving as essential industry skills. The event was coordinated by Dr. Pardeep Kaur (R & D Coordinator) and Ms. Arti Sharma, with leadership support from Dr. Versha Mohindra (IIC President) and Sh. Sanjeev Ghai. The Head of the Computer Science Department, Sh. Sushil Kumar, extended full support to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.




Apinder Kaur secured the first position in the college in BCA 5th Semester results declared by Panjab University, Chandigarh, with an impressive 88.25% marks. Mehak followed with 85.75%, claiming the second position, while Chanpreet stood third with 80.5% marks.The College Managing Committee President, Dr. Anoop Kumar, Secretary, Sh. R.M. Bhalla, and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar extended their heartfelt congratulations to the meritorious students for their academic excellence and dedication.




College Toppers of BBA Fifth Semester Bhumika Sharma secured the first position in the college by scoring 82% in Panjab University, Chandigarh result declared for BBA 5th Semester. Renuka followed with 78.3%, claiming the second position, while Diksha Sharma secured the third position with 76.2%. President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Secretary Sh. R.M. Bhalla, CMC, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar congratulated the students and extended them best wishes for a bright future.

The occasion was graced by Dr. Rakesh Malik, Director Sports, Panjab University Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest, accompanied by his wife Dr. Neeru Malik. Sports Tournaments Begin at DAV College, HoshiarpurUnder the patronage of the College Managing Committee’s President, Dr. Anoop Kumar, and Secretary Sh. R.M. The competitions are being organized under the guidance of Principal Professor (Dr. Vinay Kumar), with the Department of Physical Education ensuring active participation and smooth coordination. In the Major Raj Kumar Memorial Inter-Department Football Tournament (Boys), the competition began today with great enthusiasm. The opening match was played between the Arts and Commerce department teams, in which Commerce emerged victorious. In another series, the Keshav Devi Memorial Inter-Department Cricket Tournament (Girls) witnessed a spirited contest between the Science and Commerce departments, in which Commerce remained triumphant. Power Point Presentation Competition on Latest Computer Technologies .Under the patronage of DAV College Management Committee President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. R. M. Bhalla, and under the able guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, a Power Point Presentation Competition on Latest Computer Technologies was organized on 12 February 2026 under the banner of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science. A total of 13 students participated enthusiastically, presenting informative and innovative topics on emerging computer technologies. The competition was judged by Sh. Sushil Kumar, Ms. Reena Sahota, and Dr. Aman Bahri, who evaluated the participants on the basis of content, presentation skills, and technical knowledge. Extension Lecture on IPR AwarenessThe Institution’s Innovation Council, DAV College, Hoshiarpur, in collaboration with the P.G. Department of Commerce and Management, organized an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness Lecture on 16th February 2026. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Anoop Kumar (President, DAV College Managing Committee) and Sh. R.M. Bhalla (Secretary). The event was held under the supervision of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, with the objective of familiarizing students with the fundamentals of IPR and its importance in innovation and economic development. She addressed common oral problems faced by the elderly, guided them on proper hygiene practices, and distributed toothbrushes.Later, the volunteers participated in Dhan Guru Ram Dass Langar Sewa, where they served food and maintained cleanliness. NSS Volunteers Engage at village Patti in Social Responsibility and Community Development on Day -4.The fourth day of the NSS camp was marked by meaningful activities aimed at promoting social awareness and community service. The day began with a cleanliness drive on the school campus, where volunteers actively participated in maintaining hygiene and spreading the message of cleanliness. Following this, an awareness rally was organized in the village against drug abuse. The volunteers marched through the village raising slogans and encouraging villagers, especially the youth, to stay away from drugs and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Later, an informative guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Rajeev Sharma on Noise Pollution, highlighting its harmful effects on health and the environment. This was followed by another insightful lecture by Dr. Surjit Kaur on Social Services, emphasizing the role of NSS volunteers in nation-building and community development.In the afternoon, the volunteers participated in Langar Seva at Gurudwara Harian Da Bela, experiencing the values of equality, selfless service, and humility

A seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) camp commenced at DAV College, Hoshiarpur, under the patronage of College Management Committee President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. R.M. Bhalla. The camp is being organized under the supervision of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar and guided by NSS Programme Officers Associate Prof. Anil Kumar and Assistant Prof. Dr. Inderjit Singh. With the theme “Developed India and Drug-Free Society”, nearly 50 volunteers pledged to dedicate themselves to selfless service with enthusiasm and commitment. In the opening session, Prof. Anil emphasized that the core objective of NSS is to place society above self and to nurture active participation in nation-building. He also outlined the activities planned during the camp, scheduled from January 4 to 10, 2026. Dr. Inderjit Singh highlighted the history of the NSS unit and motivated volunteers to embrace responsibility and discipline.The first day featured a keynote address by Dr. Sapna Sharma, who raised concern over the growing menace of drug addiction. She explained its harmful consequences and urged youth to engage in constructive pursuits such as sports, social service, and nation-building to prevent substance abuse. Supporting her views, Dr. Geetu Agnihotri, Ms. Prabhdeep Kaur, Ms. Davinder Kaur, and Mr. Kamaljit Singh shared strategies to combat drug abuse through awareness campaigns, education, and de-addiction initiatives. The volunteers collectively pledged to contribute to the Drug-Free India campaign, aiming to build a healthier, happier, and safer society while embodying the spirit of NSS

DAV College Launches Principal DL. Anand Memorial Scholarship(A cheque of one lakh rupees presented by the family on his death anniversary)On the death anniversary of Late Shri DL. Anand, former Principal of DAV College, Hoshiarpur, and Secretary of the DAV College Managing Committee, a cheque of one lakh rupees was presented to Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar by Mrs. Shashi Bala Anand, wife of Shri DL. Anand who expressed her wish that the annual interest from this amount be awarded as a scholarship to a meritorious student of Economics from DAV College, Hoshiarpur.The daughters of late Sh. DL. Anand, Mrs. Preeti Sharma and Mrs. Ranjana, were also present on the occasion. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar paid tribute to Sh. DL. Anand and conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Anand family for their generous contribution. He noted that Sh. Anand, a scholar with profound knowledge of economics, not only inspired students’ interest in the subject as a teacher but also served as Principal of the institution from 1990 to 1999. On 17th December 2025, D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur organised a lecture on “To Promote Learn One More Bharatiya Bhasha.” The event, held under the supervision of Principal Prof. Dr. Vinay Kumar, was a venture of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). As the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 places strong emphasis on the promotion of multilingualism as a means to foster national integration, cultural unity, and inclusive development, this lecture was organised in that context. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sapna Sharma, member of IIC (YUKTI). The purpose of the lecture was to encourage students to learn an additional Indian language, preferably from a different state or region, to strengthen cross-cultural understanding, enhance employability, and contribute to the national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

On 26th November 2025, DAV College, Hoshiarpur, celebrated Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) with great enthusiasm and commitment. The event, held under the supervision of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, was a collective venture of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and P.G. Department of Political Science.It was organized to reaffirm the ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India and to encourage active participation of students and staff in this important national observance. Drug-Free Society Awareness Activities Organized at D.A.V. College, HoshiarpurIn line with the directives of the Punjab Government, D.A.V. The Institution’s Innovation Council, DAV College, Hoshiarpur organised an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness Activity in collaboration with PG Department of Commerce and Management on 17th November, 2025. This activity is conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Anoop Kumar (President), Sh. R.M. Bhalla (Secretary) DAVCMC and Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar Sharma (Principal), with the objective of enhancing students’ understanding about the importance of protecting creativity and innovation. The session formally began with a welcome address by Dr. Versha Mohindra, President of IIC cell followed by an introduction of the topic, relevance of IPR in academic, professional, and entrepreneurial fields by Dr. Kuldip Kaur. The resource of the day was Ma'am Isha Aggarwal from SD College, Hoshiarpur. Ma'am has richer experience as a coordinator of various activities on IPR. She explained the key concepts such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, and designs, and highlighted the legal and ethical responsibilities associated with the use of intellectual property. Interactive discussions and Q&A sessions helped students clear their doubts. The activity also included short presentations/videos to make the topic more engaging.




B.Com conducted by Punjab University Chandigarh in May 2025. In the results announced for the second semester, DA V. Navneet Kaur of the college, Hoshiarpur secured the first position in the institution by securing 8.63 SGPA. Tania Bhardwaj of the same class achieved 7.71 and Tanvi achieved 7.67 SGPA and 7.67 GPA. In the results of the BBA 2nd Semester examinations conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh in May 2025, Muskan, a student of D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur, secured the first position in the institution by obtaining a 6.96 SGPA.Anmol Kaur secured the second position with 6.88 SGPA, and Rajveer Singh secured the third position with 6.79 SGPA. The B.Sc. 2nd Semester results of D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur, have been outstanding. Principal Prof. Dr. Vinay Kumar announced that in the results declared by Panjab University, Chandigarh, for the examinations held in May 2025, Abhilasha secured the first position in the institution by obtaining 8.38 SGPA.Ramanjot Kaur with 8.25 SGPA and Shobhit Sehgal with 7.67 SGPA secured the second and third positions in the college, respectively.

College, Hoshiarpur, the Sociological Forum Society, Department of Sociology, organized an awareness programme on “FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN” with the theme of Swachhta and Swasthya on 31st October, 2025. The FIT INDIA FREEDOM RUN was started in 2020 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. This run aims to inculcate the habit of walking and running among people in the quest for better health and fitness, considering the importance of cleanliness and a healthy lifestyle.




The Postgraduate Department of Political Science, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur, organized an expert talk on November 6, 2025. The session, held under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, Principal, D.A.V. College, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 30 B.A. students.The objective of the session was to deepen understanding of gender equality as both a constitutional mandate and a social imperative. It aimed to highlight how the Indian Constitution—particularly Articles 14, 15, and 16—prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex and empowers the State to take affirmative measures for women’s advancement. The session also explored how legal frameworks and political innovation intersect to promote gender justice.

DAV College, Hoshiarpur delivered an outstanding performance at the Youth and Heritage Festival of Hoshiarpur Zone-5, organized by Panjab University, Chandigarh. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar shared that the four-day festival, held from October 14 to 17 on the college campus, witnessed participation from 28 colleges across Hoshiarpur district, featuring more than 65 competitions across various categories.Students of DAV College, Hoshiarpur won a total of 46 prizes, bringing pride to the institution. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar shared that this four-day youth festival will witness participation from around 70 teams across 28 colleges affiliated with Panjab University, Chandigarh, in Hoshiarpur Zone-5.




D.A.V. College Hoshiarpur is gearing up to host the Panjab University Chandigarh Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival (Zone-5) from October 14 to October 17, 2025. The festival is being organized under the patronage of Managing Committee President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Shri R.M. Bhalla. College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar informed that the event is being supervised by the Youth Services Department of Panjab University and will feature participation from 28 colleges across the Hoshiarpur zone, with students competing in nearly 60 diverse categories, including folk dance, folk music, traditional instruments, quiz, debate, speech, literature, fine arts, heritage, and crafts.This event carries added significance as it is dedicated to the centenary celebrations of D.A.V. College Hoshiarpur, which will mark 100 years of establishment in 2026. The College Managing Committee has extended its heartfelt wishes for the smooth and successful organization of the festival, which is expected to be a memorable celebration of Punjab’s rich cultural legacy and youthful spirit.




DAV College Hoshiarpur has received approval from Panjab University, Chandigarh to launch the Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports course. A special inspection team was sent to the college campus, comprising Prof. Yogesh Kumar Rawal, Prof. Gurmeet Singh, and Dr. Savita Gupta. After a thorough inspection, the institution was granted permission to begin the course in the 2025–26 academic session.Providing detailed information, College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar shared that there had been a consistent demand from the city of Hoshiarpur to start this course. Considering students’ interest in this three-year programme after 10+2, the College Management Committee President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Mr. R.M. Bhalla gave their consent to initiate the course.As the institution steps into its centenary year, it remains committed to prioritizing the introduction of new academic programmes. On the occasion of Punjabi Language Day, Post Graduate Punjabi Department with the support of Youth Welfare Club, College Principal Prof. Dr. According to the guidelines of Vinay Kumar, the inter-departmental quiz competition was organized In his address, the college principal wished all the participants, he said that such competitions related to their heritage and history are always enlightening for the students and their interest remains to know more. Anti-Ragging Seminar Organized at D.A.V. College.As per the guidelines of UGC, an impactful seminar was conducted by the Anti-Ragging Cell of D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar. The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the serious consequences of ragging and promote a safe, inclusive academic environment.During the session, it was emphasized that ragging-related incidents have significantly declined in recent times due to proactive measures and community vigilance.Professor Sharanjit Kaur, serving as the event coordinator, urged students to report any incidents without hesitation and shared helpline numbers for immediate assistance. She also administered an anti-ragging pledge to reinforce collective responsibility. The seminar featured active participation from more than 80 students.Apart from the cell members, Dr. Seema Chadha and Dr. Surjit Kaur, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, and Mrs. Pooja Ghai were also present during the seminar.




Under the guidance of the Punjab Government and the able leadership of College Principal Prof. Dr. Vinay Kumar, the Postgraduate Punjabi Department of DAV College Hoshiarpur observed Humanity Service Resolution Day in memory of Bhai Ghanaiya Ji. The programme commenced with a formal welcome by Associate Prof. and Head of the Punjabi Department, Ms. Sharanjeet Kaur Verma. Providing detailed information about the initiative, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar stated that both parties aim to strengthen the relationship between the foundation and the academic sector to collaborate in the field of environmental awareness.The purpose of this MoU includes providing a platform for students to participate in short-term projects and internship programs, organizing events to promote eco-friendly products, involving students and faculty in internships, collaborating in awareness campaigns, and helping the college promote sustainable development practices. Raman Physics Society of DAV College, Hoshiarpur organized a workshop on Live Demonstrations of Basic and Advanced Physics Experiments as part of the Anveshika Physics Bharat Yatra 2025, under the National Anveshika Network of India, guided by Padma Shri Prof. H.C. A planning meeting was convened at DAV College Hoshiarpur to discuss the upcoming Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival of Hoshiarpur Zone- 5. The session focused on finalizing the festival dates, reviewing rules and regulations, and strategizing for the smooth execution of the event. On the occasion of National Small-Scale Industry Day, an essay writing competition was organized on 29 Aug,2025by the Planning Forum, Department of Economics, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council, DAV College Hoshiarpur. Unit of the College organized a series of activities to mark National Sports Day on 29 Aug,2025. To honour the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, students paid tribute to him through football and hockey matches. DAV College, Hoshiarpur, under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, a two-day workshop titled 'Career in Securities Market and Money Management' was organised by the Postgraduate Department of Commerce. The event was held in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), an initiative of SEBI. Ms. Anita Saini, an SEBI-certified Securities Market Trainer (SMARTs), served as the resource person for the workshop. On the first day of the workshop, she highlighted the importance of financial literacy as a crucial life skill, while the second day focused on investment strategies in the secondary markets.

D.A.V. College Hoshiarpur Commemorates Kargil Heroes The NCC Unit of DAV College, Hoshiarpur commemorated Kargil Vijay Divas under the guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar. DAV College Hoshiarpur Signs MoU for Eye Donation Awareness DAV College, Hoshiarpur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplantation Society, Hoshiarpur to promote awareness about eye donation. Former Professor to Start Annual Scholarship at DAV Hoshiarpur Former Professor Dr. D. R. An Environmental Education Programme was organized at D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur, under the guidelines of the State Nodal Agency – Punjab State Council for Science and Technology. As part of this initiative, a poster- making competition was bhconducted by the institution’s NSS Unit to raise awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability




On the second day(29-1-2025) of the Faculty Development Program, Associate Professor Kamaljit Kaur, Head of the Department of Chemistry acted as the Resource Person and delivered a lecture on 'Air Pollution in India: A Comprehensive Analysis'. She highlighted the major contributors to air pollution, including dangerous particles, gases, automobiles, industrial chemicals, and power plants, which lead to the formation of smog, making breathing difficult.

Under the able guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, a seven- day Faculty Development Programme on the theme 'Rejuvenating Teaching Skills - 2' is being organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of DAV College, Hoshiarpur, from January 28 to February 3, 2025. The FDP was inaugurated by Vice Principal and Head of the Postgraduate Department of Commerce, Associate Prof. Jugal Kishore.On the first day of the programme, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Assistant Professor of English, served as the resource person and delivered an insightful lecture on ‘Psychology Behind Words and SWOC Analysis




The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on the premises of D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur, under the guidance of College Managing Committee President, Dr. Anoop Kumar, Secretary Sh. R.M. Bhalla, and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar. The National Flag was unfurled with pride by the Chief Guest, Sh. Manoj Kapoor, a member of the D.A.V. College Managing Committee. Under the visionary leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, D.A.V. College, Hoshiarpur, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, organized a seminar to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The seminar, titled “NALSA (Legal Services to the Victims of Drug Abuse and Eradication of Drug Menace) highlighted the importance of legal services and youth empowerment in addressing societal issues. Keynote speakers Advocate Sh. Hanee Azad and Sh. Arpan Kumar (PLV) spoke about Swami Vivekananda's invaluable contributions to nation-building and emphasized the role of youth in shaping a better future




Celebration of National Youth day:Under the dynamic leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar, Sociological Forum Society, Department of Sociology celebrated National Youth Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, with great enthusiasm. The theme for this year was 'Making India' aligning with the values and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. In his address, Principal sir emphasized the importance of youth in nation- building and urged students to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda's ideals of strength, courage, and self-belief. The program concluded with the pledge taken by the students




The seven-day NSS camp at DAV College, Hoshiarpur, concluded successfully with a sense of achievement and enthusiasm among the 61 participants. The camp, held from December 25 to December 31, 2024, aimed at instilling the values of social service, teamwork, and leadership in students.

DAV College, Hoshiarpur once again proved its excellence by hosting 65th Panjab University Inter-Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival. The campus was filled with boundless enthusiasm and a spirit of competition for four days. The event was honoured by the presence of distinguished dignitaries from various fields. The festival reached its climax when Sr. Bhagwat Singh Maan (Punjab CM) recited a poem on the stage on the last day of the festival. College Managing Committee, President Dr. Anoop Kumar, Secretary Sh. D. L. Anand and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire DAV family, whose dedication and teamwork ensured the festival’s resounding success.

College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kumar informed that these courses had been successfully running in affiliation with Panjab University, Chandigarh, for a long time. From 2024 onwards, due to the technical nature of these courses, AICTE required the college to obtain recognition from the council..
